I've recently had to make the shift from DLGuard to something more robust. Specifically, I needed One-Time Offers (Upsells and Downsells). My choices were grim. I could pick from 1ShoppingCart's limited solution, InfusionSoft's limited-and-expensive solution, Ultracart (which is really an ecommerce cart) or Butterfly Marketing (support is non-existent).

The Undeniable Truth About Google 'Slaps' and How to Avoid Them |
See the screenshot above? It's from one of my best performing sites. It's a .com that appears in the Google Top 3 for it's keyword. This site brings in between $200-$400 a month without being touched. It relies completely on reposted RSS content that has been obtained with permission. The site went from 300-400 uniques per day to 15-40. Earnings have been slashed and I'm lucky if it brings in $80 this month. Luckily, this site is peanuts to me and doesn't represent much income in the long run. It's just there to pay for a few extras.

Lately I've had my eye on Wordpress in order to fulfill my needs for a membership website. I originally wanted a Joomla Membership site plugin but couldn't find any decent ones that didn't involve messing around with ridiculous amounts of code. After all my searches, I kept coming back to YourMember by Cambridge New Media Services. This is my review after installing it on a client's website. |
